Walthall County is referred to as the CREAM PITCHER OF MISSISSIPPI because it is the primary
dairy county in the state, leading in milk production and the number of dairies.

Conveniently located in southwest Mississippi, Walthall County is home to 15,000+ residents who
contribute to the area’s rich agricultural history, from dairy and poultry production, to the abundant
pine harvesting.  Don’t let the population numbers fool you though.  Over 600,000 people live within
55 miles of Tylertown which gives us the ability to provide a quality workforce for the needs of almost
any size company.

We can’t prove that southern hospitality was invented in Tylertown, but we suspect it was.  Our folks
are some of the nicest that you will find anywhere.

Tylertown offers an appealing climate for the family as well as business.  Ideally located between
Jackson, MS and New Orleans, LA, the city and county offer the pleasant lifestyle of a progressive
small town but with easy access to many parts of the south.  Four-lane HWY 98 makes traveling to
Hattiesburg, MS and accessing I-59 a pleasant and speedy route.  I-55 and McComb, MS is less than
20 minutes from Tylertown via four-lane Hwy 98.

Our southern hospitality is genuine and we welcome you to call us home - for yourself or your business.

Year after year, everybody has fun at Tylertown's Dairy Festival, even the cows!  The Annual Dairy
Festival is made possible through local and regional sponsorship and the tremendous effort of over 50
volunteers.  Every year a massive effort is put forth to make each Dairy Festival better than the last.
The festival is free, as are all of festival activities, making it a real treat for families looking for a day of
fun. Where else can you get free ICE CREAM and MILK?  Come early before it's gone!  Stay tuned
for an event schedule of the entertainment, pageants, contests (sack race, call-calling, ice cream eating,
butter churning, etc.).  Don't miss the Tractor and Vintage Engine Show, Art and Heritage Expo, the
“Cow Bag Nationals” Antique Car Show, Flower Show, and the 2014 International Turtle Races.  The
Rotary Club sponsors the turtle races and offers divisions for turtles of all sizes.  FREE Turtle Race T-
shirts will be provided by the Kalencom Factory Outlet for the first 150 children registering racing
turtles. Craft and vendor booths are stationed along the shady trail offering a variety of items for
purchase.  All of the food and refreshments are sold by local non-profits under tents near the stage
area.  Stay until 9pm for the Grand Finale – a lively Fireworks Display sponsored by Citizens Bank.
The 2014 collectible festival t-shirts feature a prancing Holstein carrying a GOT MILK sign.  As always,
the Official Dairy Festival T-Shirts will soon be available for purchase at local banks with sizes from
